Produced by Antelope Films in association with Orfeo Films, Radio Telefís Éireann, and Reiner Moritz Associates; narrator, Daniel André Pageon. Documentary on the life and career of Rudolf Nureyev, much of it told in his own words. Additional inteviewees include Razida Evegrafova [Rashida Evgrafova], Taisiam Khalturina, Anna Udeltsova, Natalia Dudinskaya, Roland Petit, Maude Lloyd, Margot Fonteyn, Ninette de Valois, David Wall, Sylvie Guillem, and Marina Vivien. Dance excerpts include Le corsaire, The sleeping beauty, The nutcracker, Giselle (with Fonteyn), Marguerite and Armand (with Fonteyn), Apollo, Pierrot lunaire, Aureole (with Vivi Flindt, Eva Kloborg, and Anne Sonnerup of the Royal Danish Ballet), Swine lake (with Miss Piggy), and Nureyev's own stagings of Swan lake, The nutcracker (with Merle Park), Don Quixote, and Cinderella (with Sylvie Guillem and Charles Jude).   3. Cassette 2. Hommage à Rudolf Nureyev (ca. 7 min.) / interviews with four étoiles of the Ballet de l'Opéra de Paris: Isabelle Guérin, Monique Loudières, Élisabeth Maurin, Laurent Hilaire. Interspersed with rehearsal footage of Nureyev's 1992 production of La bayadère for the Ballet de l'Opéra.
  4. Noureev, mémoire d'une bayadère (c1993; ca. 23 min.) / letterbox format; presented by La Sept and AMIP with the participation of the Opéra de Paris; directed by Catherine Dupuis. Documentary on the creation of Nureyev's 1992 production of La bayadère for the Ballet de l'Opéra de Paris; includes interviews with Nureyev and numerous scenes of studio and stage rehearsals, as well as performance excerpts. Appearing in the film are dancers Isabelle Guérin and Monique Loudières (alternating in the role of Nikiya), Laurent Hilaire and Manuel Legris (alternating as Solor), Elisabeth Platel and Elisabeth Maurin (alternating as Gamzatti), and other members of the Ballet de l'Opéra de Paris; also depicted are Ninel Kurgapkina, Patricia Ruanne, Patrice Bart, and Aleth Francillon, all of whom assisted Nureyev in the staging of the ballet. Costume designer Franca Squarciapino is seen during Isabelle Guérin's visit to the costume shop.
