- This is a synthetic collection consisting of correspondence. It contains letters by the author dating from 1824 to 1852, to her daughters Sophia Peabody Hawthorne, Mary Mann, and Elizabeth Peabody, as well as two letters from Sophia Peabody Hawthorne; one to her sister Mary, and one to her sister Elizabeth. Some of these letters were considered part of Miss Elizabeth Palmer Peabody's "Cuba journal." There are also letters to Mrs. Elizabeth Peabody from Julian Hawthorne, Sophia Peabody Hawthorne, Una Hawthorne, Mary Peabody Mann, and U. Russell, dating from 1828 to 1852.
