  1. Rutherford David Rogers was Chief of Personnel at The New York Public Library in 1954-1955 and Chief of the Reference Department (later known as the Research Libraries) from 1955 to 1957. He later worked for Deputy Librarian at the Library of Congress (1957-1964), Director of Libraries at Stanford University from (1964-1969) and University Librarian at Yale University (1969-1985).
