This television adaptation is based on the musical revue which originally opened Off-Broadway in 1977 at Manhattan Theater Club's Cabaret Theater, then ran on Broadway at several theaters from 1978 to 1982, and again during the 1988-89 season. A videotape of the latter revival is available on NCOV 749.
