Consists of twenty sketches in pencil of unidentified theatrical characters by Gielgud at ca. age 16. Two are signed "AJG" and dated 1920 and one of those is titled A Carnival Domino. The rest are unsigned and undated.
Biography
John Gielgud, illustrious English actor of stage and screen, who was knighted in 1957 and died in 2000, was also a producer and director. Named Arthur John Gielgud at birth, he made his theatrical debut in 1921.
