- Track 1: 33 min. Broadcast Feb. 20, 1983 by radio station WNCN-FM, New York on its series The sound of dance. Contains advertisements. Host John Gruen interviews Clive Barnes, who discusses his book about Rudolf Nureyev. Barnes discusses his first meeting with Nureyev shortly after his defection at his first television interview in 1962; Nureyev's involvement in the writing of the book; the quality of Nureyev's dancing and artistry at present time compared to the height of his career; the impact of Nureyev's fame and career on the dance field; his personality; Nureyev and the press; the possibility of another ballet dancer having the same popularity; and the possibility of Nureyev directing the Royal Ballet.
- Track 2: 8 min. National Public Radio Weekend edition, broadcast July 26, 1986. Scott Simon spotlights the Paris Opera Ballet and Nureyev's directorship in their New York City and Washington seasons; Jay Kernis discusses his observation of a Swan Lake rehearsal at the Kennedy Center in Washington; Nureyev's appearance in rehearsal; Nureyev discusses the company under his direction. The NPR broadcast concludes with a summary of Nureyev's career including his defection; and Nureyev's partnership with Margot Fonteyn.
- Track 3: 32 min. René Servin, dance critic for Le Figaro, narrates the France Inter radio broadcast Les jours du siècle, Dec. [i.e. June] 16, 1997, the eve of the anniversary of Nureyev's defection from the U.S.S.R. at Le Bourget on June 17, 1961. The broadcast includes an account of Nureyev's defection with selections from historical tape recordings, discussion with Mario Bois, and Nureyev's subsequent relations with Russia.
