- O'Donnell speaks about Martha Graham's work Hérodiade; contrasts the earth-bound nature of her role to the abstract, visionary role danced by Graham; the difficulties of reviving Hérodiade; Graham's work Dark meadow; Graham's works Primitive mysteries; more on Hérodiade and the interaction between the characters played by O'Donnell and Graham; the use of props in Hérodiade and in Dark meadow; the difficulty in trying to interpret Graham's works too specifically; comments on Graham's personal relationship with herself and others, including Gertrude Shurr [short gap; remaining portion of recording, ca. 14 min., is marred by extraneous noise]; more on Hérodiade, including discussion of the upcoming revival, Yuriko, and Isamu Noguchi's set [ends abruptly].
