Demonstration of intermediate-level Horton technique, preceded by a brief biography of Lester Horton and comments by David Howard, Ana Marie Forsythe, Marjorie Perces, and Lenny Meek. The demonstration is followed by a segment titled The legacy, in which Perces, Forsythe, and Horton's biographer Larry Warren discuss Horton's choreography, technique, and school, and some of the people who have carried on his work, among them Alvin Ailey, Joyce Trisler, Jimmy [James] Truitte, Bella Lewitzky, and Carmen de Lavallade. In the closing segment, the dancers who appear on this tape discuss how they became dancers.
