Mr. Redlich discusses his decision to become a dancer; studying with Margaret H'Doubler; studying with Martha Graham; working with Hanya Holm; Holm's creative process; other people he studied and worked with including Helen Tamiris, and Doris Humphrey; the beginnings of his own choreography; other influences including Anna Halprin; early pieces he created and developments he observed during that period; supporting himself through the National Dance Touring program and teaching; working with theater students; his own choreography; his company; the issue of choreographers performing their own work; more on his own choreography and sources of inspiration; the contemporary dance scene, including thoughts about his own contribution as well as the future of the field.
