The scenes include: the drawing of veve, ritual designs in flour on the earth ; dancing by three black-clad women with white-painted faces, one of whom later dances outdoors with a palm tree ; two men discussing voodooism in French ; a dance solo by a man costumed as Baron Samedi, lord of cemeteries and zombies, who wears a black top hat, tailcoat, and dark glasses ; views of women in trance ; a ritual involving a goat ; and many scenes of dancing by women and men, accompanied by drumming and singing. A brief segment shot at the seashore depicts people and boats.
