Summary
Open air performance of African dances following the DanceAfrica 2001 performance in Brooklyn Academy of Music's Howard Gilman Opera House. Many of the dances are performed by the DanceAfrica 2001 Festival Dancers, a group of children and teenagers directed by Patricia Dye (who introduces some of the dances) and sponsored by the Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation. Baba Kwame Ishangi, representing the DanceAfrica Council of Elders, makes a closing speech and leads the audience in blessing the world's children.
