Lavé tête ceremony (ca. 56 min.) / recorded in the houngfor [temple] peristyle at [Habitation] Leclerc, Katherine Dunham's estate in Haiti ; attendees: Katherine Dunham, Père Vincent, Katherine Dunham's godfather André Vilmé, others. Views of wall paintings, ritual objects, and preparations precede the ceremony (first 17 min. of tape). The ceremony incorporates singing, dancing and drumming.
  2. Cassette 2. Lavé tête ceremony, continued (ca. 10 min.) -- Views of a garden and house [Habitation Leclerc?], followed by footage of another ceremony with dancing and drumming, which includes women who appear to be possessed. This footage is silent. The final 3 min. depict a social gathering around a pool ; Katherine Dunham is present.
