Summary
Unedited footage of a program from a Russian television series of talk shows. The topic under discussion is Rudolf Nureyev's defection from Russia in 1961 ; the speakers include his personal friend Liuba Myasnikova, her brother Leonid Romankov, and Oleg Sokolov, a contemporary of Nureyev's in the Kirov Ballet in the 1960s. This footage lacks the opening title sequence, chyrons and much of the pre-recorded material seen in the telecast version (see: *MGZIA 4-4209 RNC Kak ėto bylo), but runs for ca. 97 min., about an hour longer than the telecast. After the program ends, an additional 9-min. sequence depicts still photographs of Nureyev, often in the company of others.
