- Summary
- Documentary on the Oxford Dance Residency 1989, a series of workshops in contact improvisation led by Louise Richards and Kevin Finnan of Motionhouse. The program follows the progress of two groups, the first comprising dancers and non-dancers with or without physical and sensory disabilities, and the second consisting of an existing group of young adults with learning difficulties. The groups are seen in action from the first exercises, which were intended to familiarize them with the concept of contact improvisation and the experience of working together, to their final dances. Commentaries from participants and the workshop leaders reveal the insights gained in the process of acquiring new skills and learning to work with others.
