Summary
The life and career of director and acting instructor Lee Strasberg (1901-1982) is examined, through interviews with family members, theater scholars, and actors who worked with him. Strasberg's involvement with the Group Theatre of the 1930s, of which he was a founding member, is briefly examined, while his years at the Actors Studio are covered in depth. Strasberg's controversial relationship with, and influence on, Marilyn Monroe is also discussed.
