Summary

1. Interview with Mark Morris, intercut with rehearsal and performance footage of two works for Canadian dancers: Paukenschlag for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, and Beautiful day for Peggy Baker and Christopher House. In addition to discussing the two pieces, Morris talks about his lifelong relish for dancing ; his opinion of pointe work ; his disdain for the ballet world's emphasis on extreme thinness for dancers ; his defiance of traditional expectations of male and female styles of movement. Members of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and modern dancer Peggy Baker share their observations of Morris as a choreographer and individual, and describe the experience of working with him.
