Memorial for Lincoln Kirstein, celebrating his contributions as patron of the arts, producer and promoter, scholar, critic, poet, supporter of the Museum of Modern Art, and especially as a founder and director of the School of American Ballet and New York City Ballet. The speakers, who represent the worlds of dance, music, theater, the visual arts, architecture, and religion, recall him in professional and private life. In addition, messages are read from President Bill Clinton, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Governor George Pataki, and Jerome Robbins.
