Summary

1. Two days after becoming the first woman to win the Tony Award for Best Director of a Play, Garry Hynes discusses her career with Theater talk co-hosts Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins, focusing on Martin McDonagh's play The beauty queen of Leenane, for which she won her award. Ms. Hynes discusses the Druid Theatre Company of Galway, Ireland, of which she was a co-founder, as well as her tenure as artistic director of the Abbey Players.
2. Julie Taymor, who became the first woman to win a Tony Award for Best Director of a Musical the same night Ms. Hynes won her award, is seen briefly in news footage at a press conference on the night of the award ceremony.
