Summary
Romantic fantasy shot on location in Venice during Carnival, with Rudolf Nureyev acting and dancing in the role of a professor of art history. The film, which is incomplete on this tape, includes ballet excerpts danced by Nureyev and Carla Fracci: the duet of Giselle and Albrecht from Act I of Giselle ; a solo by Fracci, dressed as a bride ; the prince's variation from the awakening scene of Nureyev's version of The sleeping beauty ; a solo by Fracci as a harem dancer performing for the delectation of Nureyev ; and the Act II adagio of Giselle and Albrecht, from Giselle. In addition, there are numerous scenes of dancing by costumed Carnival revellers, a duel in 18th-century costume, and a circus scene including acrobats, jugglers, aerialists, a fire-eater, and a dancing dog.
