Summary

Compilation of very brief excerpts of music and dance performances telecast by ABC-TV. Among the many artists appearing are Julie Andrews, Ethel Merman and Fred Astaire (in a song duet), Bing Crosby, ice skater Dorothy Hamill, the Vienna Boys Choir, Joan Sutherland, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Liza Minnelli. Rudolf Nureyev and Lynn Seymour dance a brief excerpt from Act II of La sylphide, which was telecast in 1965 on the special Jimmy Durante meets the lively arts. The special included a parody of La sylphide by Durante, an excerpt from which is recorded here.
