Biography
Henry J. Taylor was an economist, journalist, columnist, author, and ambassador. Born in Chicago in 1902, later a resident of Virginia, Henry J. Taylor began his career as a journalist and columnist. His articles describing his world travels during the two decades between the First and Second World Wars were collected in his first book, TIME RUNS OUT (1942). Mr. Taylor's other books included MEN IN MOTION (1943), MEN AND POWER (1946), AN AMERICAN SPEAKS HIS MIND (1957), a novel, THE BIG MAN (1964), and another collection of essays, MEN AND MOMENTS (1966). Mr. Taylor was U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland, 1957-60, during Pres. Eisenhower's second term. Henry J. Taylor died in 1984.
