Summary
  1. Promotional program advertising the Los Angeles premiere of a stage musical production of The wizard of Oz, starring Mickey Rooney in the title role. The program opens with a brief history of the book upon which the musical was based, its author L. Frank Baum, earlier stage and film adaptations, and in particular the 1939 M-G-M musical starring Judy Garland, featuring songs by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. Several members of the cast and crew of the current production are interviewed, including the director, producer, choreographer, dog trainer, and special effects supervisor.
