Biography
  1. Frederick G. Ross (1858-1942) was an actor and business manager for such performers as Lillian Russell. Born in San Francisco, California, Frederick G. Ross began his stage career there in 1879, as a member of the Grand Opera House's permanent stock company. In the course of his acting career he worked with many of the prominent theatrical names of the era, including Edwin Booth, Maurice Barrymore, Mrs. John Drew, Joseph Jefferson, Ava Cavendish, James O'Neill, and Adelaide Neilson. During the 1890's Mr. Ross switched from acting to business management of stage plays and individual performers, including Lillian Russell.
