Summary
Profile of Rudolf Nureyev, recorded at the Paris Opéra. Nureyev is seen dancing with members of the Paris Opéra Ballet in excerpts from his staging of Raymonda. In other film clips he partners Margot Fonteyn in Marguerite and Armand, and Miss Piggy in Swine lake ; he is also glimpsed practicing at the Paris Opéra. In an interview conducted in English, he talks about his love of dance, the fleeting nature of art and fame, and his views on sexuality and the dancer. This segment appears on the first 12 min. of the tape, and is followed by segments featuring the actress Liv Ullmann ; Lord Iveagh, chairman of the Guinness brewing company ; and author Norman Mailer.
