Note
  • Title supplied by cataloger.
  • The number 48 is hand-written on bottom right of photograph.
  • "Lillian Russell as The Grand Duchess"--Bottom of cabinet photograph. Despite this reference to Russell's 1890 role in Offenbach's operetta of the same title, this photograph appeared in the printed music, copyrighted 1899, of her song, Queen of Bohemia, from Whirl-I-Gig.
  • Based on George Feydeau's La Dame de chez Maxim, as was an English language version entitled The Girl from Maxim's, which played New York at the same time as Whirl-I-Gig.
  • Whirl-I-Gig is in two Guesses (parts): Guess I, called The Girl from Martin's, a travesty of the Feydeau play, with Russell as Mlle. Fifi Coocoo; Guess II, with Russell as the Queen of Bohemia. Guess I was replaced in later performances by other burlesques, but without Russell, who continued in her role as the Queen of Bohemia.
