Copy 1: With portrait, maps and plates as in the original Dutch edition (engraved by Joannes and Baptista à Doetechum, Arnoldus and Henricus Florentius à Langren and Lambert Cornelisz), but with printed Latin text added below 30 of the plates, and with an additional map of the Arctic regions, designed by Barentsz and engraved by Baptista à Doetechum.
  2. Copy 1: This copy has plate 2 as in the Dutch edition and also with the printed Latin text.
  3. Copy 1: Bound by Hayday in maroon morocco, gilt.
  4. Copy 2: With portrait, maps and plates as in the original Dutch edition, but without the Dutch map of the world. Inserted are one plate and 7 maps from the 1598 English edition, including the "Typvs orbis terrarvm."
  5. Copy 3: With portrait, maps and plates as in the original Dutch edition, except the world map, which is that of Plancius.
  6. Copy 3: Imperfect: 3 plates wanting.
