The exercises are intended to "improve and perfect technique, correct alignment and muscular usage, develop maximum turnout and extension, rehabilitate and prevent injuries, increase vitality and artistic expression, build strength and tone down." The class is preceded by an interview with Tommy Tune, who describes the benefits he has experienced through practicing these exercises.
