Summary
Three young girls, Isis King, aged 10, Aya Koenig, aged 14, and Maria Anderson, aged 17, talk about their experiences with dance training. All three are seen in classes, mainly in ballet but also including Spanish dancing and the Pilates method. Adult insights are provided by Deborah Hadley, director of the Washington Academy of Performing Arts ; instructors Flemming Halby, Pat Hahn and Lynne Short ; Kent Stowell, artistic director of Pacific Northwest Ballet ; Lisa Apple, soloist, Pacific Northwest Ballet. Members of Pacific Northwest Ballet are seen in studio rehearsals of Stowell's Romeo and Juliet. The program concludes with excerpts from a performance by young dancers.
