- Summary
- Profile of Alla Osipenko, subtitled (roughly translated) "Confessions of a ballerina," with narration by Osipenko herself. Still photographs and performance footage illustrate the highlights of Osipenko's distinguished career, intercut with views of the ballerina as she is today: at home, teaching a private lesson, on the stage of the Kirov Theater, watching Natalia Makarova in performance, and teaching a class of young girls. Among the many ballet excerpts are La sylphide (danced with Rudolf Nureyev), The dying swan, Romeo and Juliet, Yuri Grigorovich's The stone flower (in which Osipenko created the role of the Mistress of the Copper Mountain), Grigorovich's Legend of love, Swan lake (danced with her husband John Markovsky), Leonid Yakobson's The minotaur and the nymph, and Igor Chernyshev's Antony and Cleopatra.
