Summary
  1. Outdoor dance event in celebration of the opening of National Dance Week 1997. Starting at West 72nd Street and Broadway in New York City and moving southward, groups of dancers perform at various locations, including Lincoln Center plaza and Columbus Circle. The dancing is improvisational and usually without musical accompaniment until the dancers reach Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village. Members of the community join in both the dancing and music-making.
