- Disc 1 (ca. 59 min.): Processional -- Memorial -- Opening ceremony: Lamban: the dance of the griots / performed by the [Bedford-Stuyvesant] Restoration [Corporation] Student Dance Ensemble -- Proclamation in honor of the 20th anniversary of DanceAfrica, followed by speeches by Harvey Lichtenstein, executive producer of Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Chuck Davis -- [Welcome speech] / by Chuck Davis -- [Dances and drumming] / performed by the Dinizulu Dancers, Drummers and Singers ; includes Alunja (dance homage to the Alunja harvest deity), Gome (drum solo featuring the gome, popularized by Ga fishermen of Ghana), and the Gum boot dance (South African miners' dance).
