- Biography
- Playwright, TV scriptwriter, film writer, poet, and writing teacher, China Clark was born in Pennsylvania in 1952. She is also known as Debra Clark and Jervey Pendarvis. Clark was educated at Columbia University and the American Academy of Arts. She taught writing for the CellBlock Theater at Columbia University; she has also taught writing for films and TV. Clark was a member of the Writers Guild, the Arts and Letters, the Poets and Writers, and the Frank Silvera Writers Workshop in the New York City. She was the recipient of the Woolrich Foundation Award, 1973, the Hannah del Vecchio Award (Columbia University), 1974, and a Creative Artists Public Services Fellowship. Her plays and poems are published individually and in anthologies.
