Biography
  1. Playwright and photojournalist, Owa was born in New York City, in 1944. Owa studied playwriting with the Negro Ensemble Company Playwrights Workshop, and was the first Rockefeller writer-in-residence with the Frank Silvera Writers Workshop in New York City. He has worked in East Africa and Europe as photojournalist. His plays were produced by numerous theater companies: La Mamma, Urban Arts Corps, Brooklyn College Theater Company, Hudson Valley Freedom Theater, Bijou Theater, and Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Company.
