Summary
Documentary about a visit made by Gloria Contreras, director of the Taller Coreográfico de la UNAM in Mexico City, to St. Petersburg, Russia, in September 1996. At the invitation of Nikita Dolgushin, head of the ballet company at the State Conservatory Rimsky-Korsakov, Contreras staged six of her ballets in a program titled Viva México. Performers included the Russian company and two members of the Taller Coreográfico, Rosario Contreras and Domingo Rubio. Rehearsal and performance footage, excerpts from the lecture-demonstration "...y el cuerpo fue la voz del alma," and other activities are documented on this recording.
