Description
1 videocassette (55 min.) : sd., col. NTSC; 1/2 in. (VHS)
Summary
Documentary, presented with a minimum of narration, covering a four-month period in the life of ballerina Lynn Seymour, who is seen in transition between her long tenure as a member of Britain's Royal Ballet and a new position as director, resident choreographer, and first ballerina of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Germany. She is seen discussing her new appointment with Rudolf Nureyev in a dance studio; rehearsing and performing choreography by herself and others; signing a contract with August Everding, intendant of the Bayerische Staatsoper; and leaving the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden after her final performance with the Royal Ballet. In one segment, dance critic Clement Crisp and photographer Anthony Crickmay comment upon Seymour's special qualities as a dancer, as evinced by her photographs in various roles.
