- Summary
- Mr. Massine discusses his dance Aleko, his collaboration with Marc Chagall; using Pushkin's poem "The Gypsies" for his work; the current revival of the work for American Ballet Theatre; establishing a teaching method based on Stepanov notation; the current casts in Aleko; and using symphonic scores to extend dance beyond classical and character dancing. [16 min.]
- Mr. Wright discusses his art gallery in London and opening one in New York; the founding of Western Theatre Ballet; finding good painters for set designs; holding theater design exhibits to raise funds for Western Theatre Ballet; the types of designs on exhibit; finding designs for future exhibits; and coordinating exhibits to reflect designs in company repertories.
