Drawings depicting men smoking on the deck of a ship, by a hearth, while listening to someone read the newspaper; people in public houses smoking, drinking and playing cards; women smoking including on the Boulevard Sebastopol, notorious for prostitutes, and in a fashionable parlor; a woman depicted wearing classical garb and smoking a long pipe; nude woman smoking and reading; man painting name on side of locomotive as engineer smokes; Marie Antoinette and the Dauphin pleading with guard; couples, the man smoking; captain's quarters, one man offering another a pipe; a cigar box; a poodle sitting up, with pipe in mouth; men on horseback, smoking pipes; a family of bears trudging through snow on snowshoes, carrying bags labelled Bull Durham.
