Summary
  1. Documentary filmed in 1991, covering a few months in the life of Canadian ballerina Evelyn Hart, then aged 35. She is initially seen in a guest engagement with the Bavarian State Ballet (Bayerisches Staatsballett) of Munich, where she prepares for and dances the premiere of Uwe Scholz's Klavierkonzert in Es-Dur to music by Mozart, partnered by Robert Machherndl. Artistic director Konstanze Vernon describes her special qualities as a dancer. In the studios of her home company, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Hart rehearses Aurora's Act I variation from The sleeping beauty, and works with coach André Lewis and partner Rex Harrington. She then travels to Paris to rehearse and dance Rudi van Dantzig's Romeo and Juliet with Kader Belarbi and the Paris Opéra Ballet. Back in Winnipeg, she performs Agrippina Vaganova's La Esmeralda with Manuel Legris, a guest artist from the Paris Opéra Ballet. In interviews and voice-overs, Hart shares her insights and reflections on these events, commenting on topics such as her quest for perfection, working with a partner, and acting in ballet.
