Summary
Excerpts from two of the four Craft of Choreography Conferences presented by the National Association for Regional Ballet in 1973. Most of the footage was recorded at the conference at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, from August 14-21; one section shows Michael Simms' ballet class at the conference at Dominican College, San Rafael, California, from August 4-11. The excerpts depict classes in ballet technique, repertory, music for dance, documentation of dance on film and tape, and tai chi chuan, as well as candid footage of conference participants and observers. Two short dance works, the first performed in practice clothes in a gym and the second in costume onstage, are included.
