Description
1 videodisc (NTSC) (30 min.) : sd., col.; 4 3/4 in.
Summary
Tap dancer Eddie Brown discusses his special style of rhythm tap, which he calls "scientific rhythm." He looks back upon his dance career, beginning with his training as a flash-dancer and subsequent transition to rhythm tap, and reminisces about Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, with whom he performed. The interview is interspersed with dancing by Brown, including his interpretation of the rhythms of the Highland fling; demonstrations of flash-dancing, soft shoe, and the waltz clog; and dance improvisations to the jazz pieces "Just friends," "Indiana," and "Mellow tone."
