Collection consists of personal and business correspondence of Amos Whittemore and his sons, Timothy, Henry and Gershom, relating mainly to the manufacture of brushes for the carding of cotton and wool. Also, letters of Eliza Ann Cutter Whittemore, wife of Henry Whittemore. Topics include the War of 1812, the Tariff of 1816, the Panic of 1837, and other economic and social conditions.
