- Summary
- Kaleidoscopic view of the life and work of Butō dancer and choreographer Min Tanaka. Tanaka is seen performing a solo in tribute to Tatsumi Hijikata, the founder of Butō; rehearsing with members of the Maijuku company in Tokyo; doing domestic chores at his farm at Hakyushu; directing Hisako Horikawa in a solo; and working at the Opéra Comique, Paris, on Peut-on danser le paysage?, which he created in collaboration with Karel Appel. Dance critic Nario Goda, an authority on Butō, provides a running commentary.
