Summary
Embittered by the theft of his works and his subsequent disfigurement, a composer in search of revenge falls in love with a young singer at the Paris Opéra. Opera scenes include excerpts from the third act of Flotow's Martha, and two original opera sketches, Amour et gloire (set to music by Chopin), and Le prince masqué de Caucasie (music by Tchaikovsky). Amour et gloire includes a polonaise and glimpses of waltzing couples during a duet by Eddy and Farrar; Le prince masqué includes Orientalist dancers and acrobats among the ensemble.
