CONTENTS: Teachers spotlighted in demonstration classes are Christiane Vaussard (women's ballet technique), Michelle Blaise (French folk dancing), Max Bozzoni (partnering), and Serge Golovine (men's ballet technique). Paris Opéra Ballet dancers Monique Loudières and Patrick Dupond perform variations, demonstrate steps, and converse with Bessy and students. Bessy interviews legendary ballerina Yvette Chauviré, régisseur Olivier Klementieff, and former dancer Jean-Louis Bras. Dance excerpts portray Loudières in a variation from La favorite (chor: Vaussard; mus: Donizetti), Chauviré in The dying swan (b&w) (chor: Fokine, mus: Saint-Saëns), Bessy in Daphnis and Chloe (chor: Skibine, mus: Ravel) and Spirale (chor: Bessy), Dupond in a variation from Paquita (chor: Bessy, mus: Minkus), and Golovine in Le spectre de la rose (b&w) (chor: Fokine, mus: Weber).
