Summary
Ballerina Patricia McBride looks back upon her long career with the New York City Ballet, aided by objective commentary by Francis Mason, editor of Ballet Review. She recalls her dancing partnerships with Edward Villella, with whom she is seen in excerpts from Tarantella, Peter Martins, Conrad Ludlow, Helgi Tomasson, Ib Andersen, and her husband Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux. She reminisces about working with George Balanchine as a choreographer and teacher, and with Jerome Robbins on his ballet Dances at a gathering. She is seen with Reid Olson in excerpts of Tchaikovsky pas de deux, recorded in 1984, and in brief footage of the same pas de deux recorded at an unknown date.
