Guests are Sarita Allen, a former member of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater who now dances with the Elisa Monte Dance Company, Catherine Kerr of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, and Leslie Carothers of the Joffrey Ballet. They discuss how dancers make decisions about joining or leaving companies, and compare different companies' policies regarding company class, casting, rehearsals and coaching, and contract negotiations. Kerr is seen in excerpts from Cunningham's videodance version of Points in space, and the film versions of Coast zone and Channels/inserts. Allen is seen in Monte's Audentity, and Carothers in Joffrey and Arpino's Nutcracker.
