Summary
  1. Documentary on the animated motion picture Fantasia (1940) and its restoration and re-release in 1990. The story of the making of the film is interspersed with interviews and commentaries by Walt Disney, conductor Leopold Stokowski, creative artists involved in the production, critics, and others, as well as substantial excerpts from the film itself. Of special interest to dancers is archival footage of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, featuring Marge Champion, which formed the basis for the Dance of the hours. Included in the documentary is unused footage for Debussy's Clair de lune, Prokofiev's Peter and the wolf, and the Bumble boogie, a swing version of Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the bumblebee.
