Summary
  1. Guests are dancer/choreographer Paul Taylor and Charles Reinhart, who was his first manager. Taylor discusses his recently published autobiography Private Domain, and reminisces about his career. He talks about his alter ego, George Tacet, and recalls his first experiments in choreography. He describes his historic concert Seven new dances, and his reaction to Louis Horst's famous review. Reinhart shares his impressions of Taylor as a dancer, and recalls how he became Taylor's manager. Turning to more recent events, Taylor tells about breaking his dependency on amphetamines, and deciding to retire as a performer. The numerous dance excerpts include Taylor's Esplanade; two of the Seven new dances, Epic and Event 1 (b&w); Junction; From sea to shining sea (b&w); Aureole; Arden court; Orbs; and Cloven kingdom; as well as footage from the documentary American Dance Festival: Keeper of the flame, which depicts Charles Weidman, Walter Terry, and scenes of Taylor in rehearsal.
