- Choreographer Karole Armitage and visual artist David Salle discuss various aspects of their collaboration, such as the affinity of their artistic approaches, mutual influence, and the influences of others. Their collaboration is seen in action in excerpts from Les stances à Sophie, danced by guest artists Stephanie Saland and Robert La Fosse with the Armitage Ballet, and The Elizabethan phrasing of the late Albert Ayler (including excerpts presented under the title Hipsters, flipsters, and finger poppin' daddies). In Esoterica balletica, Lynn Garafola discusses Pablo Picasso's designs for Léonide Massine's Parade and The three-cornered hat.
