Description
  1. 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (28 min.) : sd., col.; 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. Tap dancer Gregg Burge and Henry Le Tang, a choreographer with numerous Broadway credits, discuss the special qualities and requirements of choreographing and performing tap dance in Broadway musicals. Burge demonstrates wings and other movements that add "flash" to the choreography; Le Tang talks about show doctoring and recalls the lessons he learned in his youth from Buddy Bradley. Le Tang also demonstrates scatting, a vocal accompaniment frequently used by tap dancers, and displays his first pair of tap shoes. He discusses the musicals Sophisticated ladies, which he choreographed, and Eubie, which heralded the revival of tap dancing on Broadway. Burge discusses his collaboration with Peter Martins on Song and dance, and is seen performing in an excerpt from that show.
